Reiki Shoden level one – August 30th & 31st  2024 Pomos.

Thankyou for enquiring about Shoden first degree. Shoden means Beginner's Mind teachings in Japanese.  ‘Sho’ means beginner and ‘den’ means level.

We are holding a 2 day Shoden followed by a one day Okuden course. Prequesists for Shoden none. Prerequisites for Okuden you must have taken Shoden and at least 6 must have passed. I also ask for 3 case studies of Reiki practice on friends or family. Previous students May resit Shoden for the cost of €50.

I teach Reiki from a Japanese perspective, which is a simple, powerful and authentic method which originated in the 1920’s.

Shoden is a very simple level designed to introduce the student to the concept of energies.

At the end of this course you will be confident enough to treat yourself or friends and family and understand what reiki is, learn how to recognize the energies of the body and know a bit of reiki history.

Our courses are an opportunity to meet like-minded people, have fun and learn a technique that is yours for life.

You will not be left on your own after the training, I will be your mentor for as long as you require my help and I will hold regular Reiju and Reiki shares for you to practice your new skills.

Previous students are welcome to join us for Reiju.

A little bit about me.

My name is Cali and I have lived in Cyprus for the last 10 years. I work in both the U.K. and the Paphos district of Cyprus. I studied Western & Japanese Reiki in the U.K. and Cyprus, and Japanese Reiki with my teacher Arjava on the island of Lesvos in Greece. Arjava is the vice president of the Jikiden reiki institute of Kyoto.  I now practice traditional Jikiden Reiki with clients, a system which has remained unchanged in every detail since 1926.

I teach a method of traditional Japanese reiki with a touch of science and Western information.

Venue: Shambala Beach House. Pomos Village Shambala is in a spectacular location on the sea. Learning Reiki accompanied by the sound of the sea is an unforgettable experience.

The 2 Day Course

The 2 day course will consist of you receiving Reiju 3 times (attunement in Western Reiki), as well as learning a brief history of Reiki, Japanese meditations, the theory, self awareness and plenty of opportunity to put your learning into practice.

The course is fully certified, and you will receive a beautiful certificate on completion.

It will enable you to join reiki organisations and go on to the next level if you wish.

After this course you will be able to give Reiki to yourself and, on an unpaid basis, to friends and family.

During the 2 day course we will talk about what reiki is, the 3 elements of practicing reiki from a Japanese perspective, learn about the three energy centers ( similar to the Indian Chakra system) and the traditional meditations and techniques used to help cultivate the energy. You will learn how to do some wonderful reiki techniques such as  Kenyoku, Joishin Kokyo ho & Gassho meditation

I’ll talk you through meditations and techniques that you can use every day to help make your awareness of the energy stronger and a clearer channel.

We will talk a little about the history of the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui and his students.

Anyone can ‘do’ Reiki. You don’t need to be religious or have any special powers. However, it’s about practice and the perception of the fluctuations in energy and frequencies in the body. The more you practice, the more you learn to recognise these.

To be successful as a Reiki therapist, a practitioner needs to practice Meditation to cultivate the energy, embody the Gokai ( 5 precepts of Reiki) and practice everyday. That’s why I personally don’t believe online courses work. During the course you will get to treat yourselves and hopefully a client.

I will provide resources, answer questions and hold the space for you, but the best way for you to learn Reiki is by being in its embrace – giving and getting.

Reiki is about practice, my aim for this course is that I want you to leave feeling confident in your ability to connect to the energy and have the tools you will need to practice daily.
